It was a good night for the COMMANDOS in their homecoming game as HHS was able to get a 54-21 Region5-6A victory over the Clarksville Wildcats.
HHS got the ball to start the game and find the endzone, quarterback #11 Luke Manning would find #10 Ellis Ellis for a 1st down to begin the drive, then after connecting with #25 Torin Baker, Manning would again connect with Ellis for a 6 yard TD. #36 Thomas Matchell’s PAT would give the COMMANDOS a 7-0 lead. On the 2nd offensive snap for CHS, #53 Jaden Thorton would force a fumble that Torin Baker recovered, leading to Manning 2nd TD connection to Ellis as HHS went up 14-0. A 3 & out following the turnover would lead the Manning throwing his 3rd touchdown of the night, this one being to Wharton, the PAT would be no good leaving the score at 27-0. The Wildcats would go on a drive of their own following the kickoff and score with a 20 yard run. With the score 27-7, HHS would get another drive going with 1st down runs by Baker, Ellis, and #32 Noah Carmean before Manning hit #26 Stevin Mack for a 23 yard touchdown. Defensive plays by Baker and #66 Logan Whisnant would give HHS the ball back before halftime and after a 52 yard punt return for a touchdown by Torin Baker was negated by penalty, Manning would throw his 5th touchdown pass of the night and the 3rd to Ellis making the score 41-7 at the half.
Clarksville would be forced to punt on the 1st possession of the 2nd half.
